The Route, Day by Day

Day 1: Delhi to Shimla. You meet at the boarding point in the evening, get to know your trip captain and fellow travellers, and take an overnight Volvo to Shimla after a short briefing.

Day 2: Shimla to Sarahan. After a break at Narkanda, you drive along the river via Rampur Bushar to Sarahan. Visit the 800-year-old Bhimakali Temple, check in and enjoy a warm bonfire dinner with your group.

Day 3: Sarahan to Sangla. Wake up to the sunrise, then drive through the gateway of Kinnaur to Chitkul, the last village near the China border. It's also where you can stop for lunch at the well-known "Hindustan ka Aakhri Dhaba". You spend the night at a homestay in Sangla, with another bonfire dinner.

Day 4: Sangla to Tabo. You cross the Khab bridge, where the Spiti and Sutlej rivers meet, and enter Spiti Valley. Stop at Gue Monastery to see its mummy, said to be about 500 years old and still with its teeth intact. You reach Tabo by evening.

Day 5: Tabo to Kaza. You visit Dhankar Monastery, set among rocky spurs and said to be about 1,000 years old, then reach Kaza and explore its market.

Day 6: Kaza sightseeing. This is the big day. You visit Komic, one of the highest motorable villages in the world, and Hikkim, where you can post a card from the world's highest post office. You also see Key Monastery, Langza, Kibber and the Chicham Bridge, the highest bridge in Asia.

Day 7: Kaza to Kalpa and departure. You travel along the Spiti river into Kinnaur and reach Kalpa, which looks out over the Kinnaur Kailash range. The next day, you drive to Shimla, spend some leisure time in the cafes and board the evening Volvo back to Delhi.

The trip is priced at about ₹22,000 to ₹24,999 per person depending on the sharing option, plus 5% GST. It includes:

What to Pack

Trolley bags are not allowed, so carry a rucksack. Pack warm layers (jackets, thermals, socks, a scarf and gloves), comfortable shoes, a rain coat, sunscreen SPF 50, lip balm and moisturizer, and basic toiletries. Also bring a power bank, camera, torch, sunglasses, snacks and a mobile phone with a postpaid SIM, since only postpaid connections work reliably in the region.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

For bookings, 30% of the total amount must be paid within one month of booking or three months before the travel date, whichever comes first. Cancellations made up to 30 days before departure carry a 20% fee, and cancellations within 30 days carry a 100% fee.
