Kurast runs are where a lot of Season 14 players are spending their time now, especially after patch 3.1.1 removed the old restriction on wearing Mythic Uniques. That one change has made each extra drop matter far more than it used to. If your build can make use of several chase pieces, farming D4 items through a well-prepared Kurast route can feel much better than relying on ordinary boss rotations. The real trick is not rushing straight to the boss. It is setting up the dungeon so the reward room pays out more than once. Torment 12 is the target here, since lower tiers just do not give the same value back for a costly Armed Mythic Tribute.
Build around Sewer Sludge
The War Plans board is the part many players overlook. Put your points into the Kurast section and work down the left-side route until Sewer Sludge is unlocked. This node changes the whole rhythm of a run. Beacons can now call in Portal Pranksters, and killing those goblins adds copies of the chest waiting at the end of the dungeon. That is why a clean boss kill alone is not enough. You want the map to produce pranksters before you ever reach the third floor. With an Armed Mythic Tribute active, one extra chest can be a big swing. Two or three makes the run worth talking about.
Check the map before committing
Do not treat every Kurast layout as a guaranteed finish. Run the opening floors, hit every beacon you can reach without taking silly detours, and watch for the Portal Prankster spawns. A sensible routine looks like this.
- Enter on Torment 12 with an Armed Mythic Tribute ready.
- Activate beacons first, rather than beelining for the boss door.
- Clear every Portal Prankster that appears.
- Count your reward copies before deciding whether to finish the run.
If the dungeon has produced several pranksters, carry on and kill the boss. The duplicated chest rewards are the reason you spent the tribute in the first place. When the map gives you almost nothing, though, forcing a completion is usually a bad trade. It is tempting to take the single chest and move on, but those tributes are too valuable for that sort of gamble.
Reset weak attempts quickly
When the beacon rolls are poor, open the map before entering the final boss room and use the War Plans fast-travel option to jump to the next queued activity. That abandons and resets the current Kurast instance, letting you try another layout without burning the tribute on a low-return clear. Getting Armed Mythic Tributes takes work: players fuse blue tributes upward through rare and legendary versions in the Horadric Cube, then combine five legendary Armed Tributes for the Mythic farming key. Because that chain is expensive, saving a tribute for a stronger map is often the smarter call. For players looking at D4 items for sale as part of their build planning, this approach also helps pinpoint which Mythics are actually worth chasing before committing to repeated runs.
