All three trips follow the same core route from Guwahati.

• Shillong: the hill capital, with Umiam Lake, Ward’s Lake and Police Bazaar.

• Laitlum Canyon and Krang Suri Falls: wide valley views, then turquoise swimming pools.

• Dawki and Shnongpdeng: boating on the Umngot River. Cliff jumping is included on Magic Meghalaya and the Kaziranga trip, and all water activities depend on river level and safety.

• Mawlynnong: a tidy village often called Asia’s cleanest.

• Cherrapunji: Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and limestone caves.

• Double Decker Living Root Bridge: a trek of about 3,000+ steps down to Nongriat, then back up. It’s tiring and worth it.

• Mawphlang Sacred Forest: an old forest with stone monoliths and a calm feel.

Tips before you book

• Be honest about fitness. The root bridge trek is the hard part, so wear shoes with good grip.

• Pack for rain. Cherrapunji can surprise you in any season.

• Read the exclusions. Flights, unlisted meals, entry tickets not mentioned, personal expenses and GST are extra.

• Don’t miss your pickup. No alternate transfer is arranged, and you cover the cost.

• Expect weather changes. Water sports and bonfires can be cancelled for safety, and the packages say there’s no refund for missed activities.
