Barcelona, Spain: In a magnificent celebration of international harmony and artistic diplomacy, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder of Marwah Studios and a global icon in media and cultural integration, was honoured in Barcelona, Spain by the Indian Culture Centre Foundation. The prestigious recognition was conferred by the Vice President of the Foundation, Ms. Marta Marzal, in the gracious presence of H.E. Inbasekar Sundaramurthi, Consul General of India in Barcelona, and Mr. Robert Masih Nahar, former Senator of the Spanish Senate.

The honour was bestowed during a landmark cultural conference titled “Bridging Cultures: India & Spain”, held at the historic Joan Pelegrí School Auditorium. The event was a powerful initiative curated to highlight the deepening cultural, artistic, and intellectual connections between the two nations. The conference was graciously hosted by Professor Kandarp Mehta, a noted academic and cultural interlocutor.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, who has been globally celebrated for founding Noida Film City and leading over 7500 cultural events touching 156 nations, expressed heartfelt gratitude. “Art and culture are the most powerful tools to unite civilizations. I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition in Spain, a country that resonates with vibrancy, creativity, and shared values of peace and unity,” said Dr. Marwah.

The evening was enriched with a mesmerizing Kathak dance performance by celebrated Catalan dancer Núria Cabo, who captured the essence of Indian classical rhythm with remarkable grace. The artistic flair continued with a fusion performance by Dancing Ganesh, an eclectic group led by Gustavo Corral, blending Indian traditions with local Spanish elements.

One of the highlights of the evening was the screening of “ESPECIAS”, a short film directed by Cairo Corrêa, which reflected on the sensory bridge between Indian and Spanish cultures through culinary metaphors and storytelling.

Several prominent voices from the Indian diaspora in Spain also contributed to the dialogue. Ms. Deepti Golani, a business leader and international protocol expert, shared insights on cultural diplomacy. Mr. Alok Lahad and Mr. Paramjeet Singh Kalra, influential Indian entrepreneurs based in Catalonia, emphasized the role of cultural heritage in building business and societal bridges.

A special moment unfolded as author Manu Kaur personally presented a copy of her acclaimed book Kaur’s Worlds to Dr. Sandeep Marwah, symbolizing the confluence of literary artistry and cultural legacy.
